I’m obsessed with the concept of moving a house to preserve it. As a child, The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton, of Mike Mulligan fame, was one of my favorite books. The illustrations show the house’s changing feelings about its environment. I still want all houses to be happy, surrounded by pink apple trees and laughing children.
The Lieb House, originally built in my home state of New Jersey, is much happier having moved to Glen Cove, NY. No apple trees, but a killer view of the water.
